Will I Be Able to Reach You? What Support With Me Really Looks Like

One of the quiet questions many women carry into pregnancy is this:

“What happens if I’m worried… and I don’t know what to do?”

At 2pm, that question can feel manageable.

At 2am, when everything is still and your thoughts feel louder, it can feel very different.

In those moments, knowing who you can reach — and how — matters more than most people expect. And more than that, knowing you’re not alone in it.

You’re not meant to sit at home wondering

If something doesn’t feel quite right…If you’re unsure whether something is normal…If you’re going back and forth in your mind about whether to call someone…That’s not something you’re expected to carry by yourself.

Part of my role as your independent midwife is to be there in those moments — to bring clarity, reassurance, and calm when things feel uncertain. And I truly believe that care should reflect something deeper too — that you are known, held, and not navigating this season alone.

If something doesn’t feel quite right…That’s not something you’re expected to carry by yourself.

How to reach me (in real life, not just in theory)

You’re always welcome to contact me.

  • WhatsApp is usually the quickest way

  • Email is absolutely fine too

I aim to respond within 24 hours, and usually much sooner.

But more importantly than that—

If it feels urgent, call me

If you’re sitting there thinking:

“I don’t know if I should go to hospital…”

“Something just feels off…”

“I’m probably overthinking this…”

Please call me. So you don’t have to sit at home second-guessing yourself or wondering if something is normal.

Even if it’s the middle of the night. Especially then.

You are never a burden for needing reassurance or support.

You deserve to feel safe, supported, and able to reach out without hesitation.

Appointments, flexibility, and real life

Because I travel to support families, there may occasionally be small variations in timing. Appointments can sometimes be around 15 minutes earlier or later, and I’ll always keep you updated where I can.

Very occasionally, I may need to rearrange an appointment at short notice because I’ve been called to a birth. This doesn’t happen often — but when it does, it’s because a woman needs me in that moment.

And one day, that will be you. The same care, understanding and priority you’re extending in that moment will be what’s there for you when your time comes.

You can say anything to me

This part really matters.

If something doesn’t feel right…If you have a concern…If you disagree with something…

You can tell me, so you don't have a small worry grow into a bigger anxiety.

It is genuinely very difficult to offend me. I would always rather have an honest conversation than have something sit quietly and grow into worry.

This way of working together is based on trust, honesty and respect for each other.

And if you ever felt unable to

If in unlikely event, for any reason, you felt you couldn’t raise something with me directly, you are always entitled to seek support elsewhere. You can contact:

  • Nursing and Midwifery Council

  • Zest Midwives

Your care should always feel safe, transparent, and accountable.

What this really means for you

This isn’t just about communication. It’s about knowing that:

  • You won’t be left sitting in uncertainty

  • You won’t feel like a burden for needing support

  • You won’t have to navigate decisions alone

And that, even in the moments that feel overwhelming, there is both practical support and a deeper sense that you are being held through it.

If you're looking for care that is genuine, where you feel truly seen and safe in every way, you're very welcome to get in touch to explore how I can support you.
